Did you see any wildlife?? :) Wow! I would have been disappointed too. $500 night! The most i've paid is maybe $150ish. I guess its the privledge of actually staying inside the park. Hmmm may have to camp out.....Did i tell you one of my life goals is to hike at all the National Parks and as many State Parks as i can manage??? I hope they are still there by the time i get around to it. LOL! Thats an awesome time on your race! And a great ranking! You did yourself proud woman. Oh and that pic of you and hubby in front of falls is beautiful. Definately a keeper!

Yay!!! I'm so glad it was such a good experience. You guys are amazing....you continue to be my inspiration. Maybe some year we could do a Campbell, Winkleman, Fuller road trip to Fresno and run it "together." The sundaes looked good, but I gotta admit I would've taken those two beers any day. Congrats Carol!

Way to go Carol!!!! That sounds like an incredible race!!! Another one to add to my wish list. LOL! Next i hope to venture outside of Texas for a half marathon. After next weekend i will have done one in Austin and San Antonio. Disney World Half is on my radar and so is one in California. We'll just have to see what the future holds. Its so nice you can incorporate some Yosemite sight seeing in with the race. Thanks for the pics. You two did GREAT! Jinx!

Next weekend we are going to carry a disposable camera in a little fanny pack since we are walking hopefully we will get some great pics. Free drinks??? Wow! Too bad your still preparing for a race. Halloween candy......I'm so thankful i really didn't have to deal with it this year. We live in the boonies down a quiet country road and no trick or treaters....one year i even put a sign at the end of my drive way inviting them and still no one came so no Halloween candy in my house! :) I just avoid the Halloween candy aisle at Walmart. And really its only chocolate that even entices me. Don't know why that is but have to keep to chocolate well under control or it could get ugly and out of control very easily. Your hotel sounds perfect. Thats the way it was for my daughter's half marathon she did in Austin her senior year of highschool . The starting line was right out the door of the hotel. We haven't been that fortunate since. Enjoy your trip. Look forward to hearing from you. Going for a run then treating myself to a matinee movie "Amelia" . Its considered a chick flick so hubby won't watch it. :)

I'm so excited ! I just can't hide it! Okay that song is gonna play in your head all day now! :) I'm excited too as the Sunday after your race is mine in San Antonio! My daughter comes in next Wednesday! And AND my scale is down a pound! Exciting stuff coming up for both of us! Just printed off our conformation sheets. This is really gonna happen! A half marathon with hubby and daughter! Now we just need to finish in 4 hours to get matching bling bling and have nobody get hurt! Which is a concern since none of us are really prepared for this. I've already made up my mind i will not do another one unless prepared! LOL! We are walking this one for hubby but my next goal is to do one that i mostly run. Or run a mile walk a mile. Daughter and i are gonna try to make it a yearly tradition. Next year i'll have to go to her state whereever she's at and do one. Her finance is joining the Airforce so who knows where they will be. Be thinking about your girl on Sunday!

I know i've invented alot of my letters over the years. Some i make fancier and some i change so you can tell what they are like the Q and the Z etc..... But i love to hand write letters. I've been the letter writer in the family for as long as i can remember. Wish i was on the receiving end as often. LOL! But nobody writes letters anymore.

I don't know what your secret incentive is, but knowing that it's a fast, flat course could be motivating and exciting. I also like to pick out people I think I can pass and sort of reel them in.

But, not every race has to be a PR. If you're not feeling peppy that day, maybe bring your camera and practice your running photography.
