Movie Review

Yesterday, we watched the Clint Eastwood movie, "Gran Torino". I have to say I really think it is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I think most people are aware that it is full of racial slurs but it is essential to the plot and Eastwood's character development. I won't say anything more about the movie but if anyone is looking for a good movie it's out on DVD now.

Today we're hoping to go for a 5 miler and then later do some intervals at the track. But so far it has been raining so we're on hold for the time being. I suppose if we HAD to, we could put if off until tomorrow but I'd rather stick to my training schedule.

I had a dream last night that we ran the St. George marathon. Let there be no mistake, I have no desire to run the St. George marathon so I have no idea where that dream came from. In the dream, we were just going to watch the marathon, then as we passed by they said we were registered and gave us race bibs and spy belts (my bib number was not even a number, it was ININININ). So we thought, what the heck, we'll give it a shot, knowing full well that we weren't trained for the additional 13 miles. Anyway, long story short, I ended up stopping about 1 block short of the finish line and sitting down. Pretty soon my friends came by and we were visiting and having a great time. Then spouse rolled up (you know that was a dream since he is ALWAYS ahead of me) and joined the party. After half an hour we decided we'd better go cross the finish line to "stop our clocks". Just as we were getting ready to head to the finish line I awoke. I guess the moral to this dream was that it isn't about the goal, it's about the journey, huh?

Speaking of journey, I'm on the weight roller coaster where every other day I'm up 2 pounds. Of course, if I was optimistic about it I could say every other day I'm down 2 pounds. Either way, every other day sucks. I just hate it when my data won't cooperate with my desire.

We LOVED that movie. Even saw it in the theater, which is rare for us.

I liked the movie too. His neighborhood reminded me a lot of some neighborhoods in Toledo. The violence seemed a little over-the-top but it was a movie after all.

Your dream does seem to suggest it's about having fun along the way and not getting to the finish line as fast as possible. Even your race number looks like a weight graph. You'll get there when you're ready.

That movie is on my 'to do ' list. LOL! Hubby is going out of town for two nights so i'm going to rent some movies i've been wanting to see. He rarely spends the night away from home so i'm thinking 'chick flicks'!!1 LOL! Have any good suggestions?
Either i never dream or i never remember them. Hubby on the other hand remembers his vividly and enjoys telling me alllll about them. :) I agree with your moral to the dream. The fact you can even remember the 'number' on the bib is freaky. Where is the St George marathon?? Jinx!
