Busy Day

It's been one of those days that from the minute I got up, I'm just trying to get everything done. I know, how hard can it be since I don't have a job, right?

The first thing we did this morning was go for a 5 mile run. I checked my miles and after I do the running at the track (in just a short while now) I'll know for sure whether I'll hit my 6,000th mile at the end of this week or the first of next. If it is the end of this week, it will be at the tail end of the hard hill run. Oh, that sucks but it would be nice to have an excuse to stop and take a picture. We'll have to see how that works out.

Tonight I'm continuing with the quarter mile intervals. I don't think it has sped me up any, which surprises me because usually I get some pretty quick results. But I think the reason is that between adding the interval training and the additional hill run (yes, at the same time, a violation of all the rules), I'm right up against the edge of over loading my legs. So I don't think I've actually had a run yet where they are fully recharged. Maybe soon. The other thing is that the weather has warmed up and warmer weather is never conducive with running faster. But . . . I'm NOT complaining - just stating the facts.

After our run, I started working on a financial report for a meeting I have Saturday. I am the financial director for our local chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. It really isn't much work but the fact that I had to boot up my big lap top slowed everything down to a crawl since it had to go through all the updates since the last time I used it.

Then I had to go to the nursery to buy plants we don't really have room for anyway. We bought a plum tree. We'll probably regret that but the idea of eating a fresh plum seems good to me right now. I'm sure the birds will enjoy it.

Then I went with hubby to his doctor appointment. Our doctor is a runner so we usually have some great conversation but I stayed in the waiting room this time because it was a "bend over and cough" type of appointment. After hubby came out of the exam room, back into the waiting area, I asked him, "
So what did he (the doctor) say"?
He replied,
"He said you need a colonoscopy".
See, some days you just can't win! Apparently they forgot who the patient was! And on that note, I gotta run.
