I've been doing something different the last couple of days. Usually, I enter my calories into FITDAY.COM as I consume them. I pretty much eat the same stuff so it isn't hard to ration out my calories. The only problem I have is at the end of the day, when I want just a little bit something more, I can easily punch it in and see that my calories only go over by 100 - 200. Considering how much exercise I get, this shouldn't be an issue.
Apparently "shouldn't" is not good enough because my weight has pretty much been stuck within the same 2-3 pound range for a very long time now. And that range has been in excess of my goal weight (155, maybe I'm going to start referring to it as my life weight). To be more precise, I have been several pounds over 155 for too long. It isn't taking care of itself so I need to give it some attention and stay focused so I can get back to 155, or better yet 153 point anything, that way I have a bit of a "safety net".
So, what I have been doing is after breakfast (I always have the same thing, yes, boring but it works for me), I enter the foods/calories I'll be eating for the whole day, print it out, then I cross it off as I consume it. I think the whole thing that is different about this is that when I reach the end of the list, it is the end of the list. It's done, finished, no more. When I was entering it the other way, there REALLY was no end, I could always just add a tiny bit more to the bottom of the list. Not a big difference but as anyone who had every tried to maintain a weight loss knows, it's the little stuff that makes all the difference because it's that little stuff that all adds up (to one side or the other) on the scale.

I like your new idea. Let me know how it goes. Finally made it home from work. Whew! 106 degrees today. Have some storms developing to the west of west central tx maybe they will meander my way. Pretty please! After work i stopped at the gym and did my weight lifting and 10 min on the elliptical. Thats one of my recent changes to bend the scale to my will. LOL! My weight lifting usually takes anywhere from 40-45 min then i would usually just leave instead of getting in the hour work out i want to get. So i've started hopping on the stationery bike or the elliptical for the remaining min. I usually only burn about 100 cal but every little bit helps is the way i see it. On my treadmill running days the machine says it takes me between 40-45 min to reach my 4 miles and burns about 500+ calories but we know thats not very accurate. I used to just get off the treadmill and go home but now i walk the remaining 15 min. Small but hopefully helpful changes. Take care. Jinx!
